Order and tasks: a quick overview

From a Bavarian environmental educational center to H 46 - the Future Agency for Schools.

H 46 -  the Future Agency for Schools, has been directly subordinated in August 2007 to the Education Administration of  Nuremberg . The „Bavarian environmental station“ works in the tradition „of the Environmental Educational Center of the City of Nuremberg “. The intention is to provide „Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)“ as a world-wide education concept of the United Nations on the local/regional level and to develop suitable conversion measures for schools, lessons and beyond.

New task

2007: New requirements and tasks of the educational system in Nuremberg led to the current reorientation:

• The emphasis of the work is to create new concepts for the reduction of educational deficits and the promotion of improvements in the quality of school lessons. This will be provided by projects for the improvement of training chances and the best promotion for pupils in Nuremberg (see e.g. new project “Future Passport“: support of the Nuremberg Portfolio work etc.).

• In the non-school related area, the environmental station in Nuremberg is available to all interested people as information and advisory board. Exemplary projects are the disposition and support „of the intercultural garden Nuremberg“ and the organization of  networking in the area of „Education for Sustainable Development“.
